Pork and Apple Burger

Burger de porc et pommes

Ingredients

For the burgers
500g ground pork
2 French shallots, thinly sliced
2 apples, grated
1 egg
1 tsp. sage

Apple-based barbecue sauce
200 ml apple juice
¼ cup sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water

For serving and suggested toppings
Hamburger bun
Caramelized onions
Sharp cheddar cheese
Lettuce
Mayonnaise

Preparation

For the burgers

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.
  2. Shape into patties with your hands, then cook on the barbecue.

For the apple-based barbecue sauce

  1. In a small bowl, combine water and cornstarch.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix all ingredients together with the water and cornstarch mixture.
  3. Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.

Assemble burgers and enjoy!
