Small apple, big story

Its name hints at its place of origin: the state of New York, also known as the Empire State. This apple has quite the lineage. It was born at Cornell University in the 1940s and raised by a McIntosh father and a Red Delicious mother. It has been cultivated in orchards since 1960, to the enjoyment of many food lovers.
